- Piru, March 22, 2025 – PT Sinar Hijau Ventures (SHV) reaffirms its commitment to building inclusive, equitable, and sustainable partnerships with a concrete step forward. Held at Mitra Palace Hotel, West Seram, SHV officially signed Cooperation Agreements (CA) with 11 Social Forestry Groups (SFG) from various regions in Maluku. This signing, facilitated by the Center for Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership for Maluku Papua, marks a significant milestone in strengthening the local economy based on sustainable forests.
This initiative lays a strong foundation for creating a resilient and eco-friendly non-timber forest products supply chain that will provide direct benefits to surrounding communities. Commodities such as kenari, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla symbolize the synergy between nature, local culture, and sustainable business.
The Importance of This Step for PT Sinar Hijau Ventures
As a company rooted in sustainability, community empowerment, and long-term partnerships, SHV believes that economic transformation in forested areas can only be achieved by building a collaborative business ecosystem with indigenous and local communities.
SHV collaborates with the Solidaridad Network Indonesia Foundation to incubate social forestry businesses, enhance group capacities, and expand market access for responsibly curated forest products.
This partnership is part of our broader strategy to connect forest products from indigenous areas to premium markets, both nationally and globally. This is not just a business expansion effort—this is our commitment to creating a value chain that is fair, transparent, and regenerative.
Driving a Resilient Business Ecosystem
The signing of this CA expands SHV’s partnership network with SFG in the Seram region and surrounding areas. Each partnership is designed to improve the business capacity of local communities, optimize the sustainable use of HHBK, and create real economic impacts at the village level.
Cross-Sector Collaboration: The Key to Success
The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Head of the Center for Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership for Maluku Papua/Balai PSKL Maluku Papua, Head of Technical Implementation Unit of Forest Management Unit/UPTD KPH West Seram, as well as village leaders and community group representatives. This cross-sector synergy forms the cornerstone of long-term success, where the roles of government, private sector, and local communities strengthen each other.
Towards a Greener and More Prosperous Future
This initiative is part of SHV’s long-term mission to build a business model that integrates forest conservation, community empowerment, and fair trade. We believe that forests can only remain sustainable if the surrounding communities are empowered and become the primary actors in managing their natural resources.
By supporting social forestry businesses and strengthening local supply chains, we not only preserve forests but also realize true economic justice—from grassroots to global markets.
Let’s Be Part of the Change Together
We invite all parties—government, business players, non-governmental organizations, and consumers—to continue pushing for such collaborations. Only by working together we can build a greener, fairer, and more sustainable Indonesia.
For the earth, for the people, for the future.
